Welcome to the new Local Studies Group blog

With the advent of the new CILIP website, our blog on CILIP communities has been archived by the British Library so we’re starting a new blog.

If you’re involved in local studies and would like to be a blog author, please get in touch by completing the contact form – we’d be delighted to hear from you, whether or not you’re a current member of CILIP. Just tell us your experience and the type of thing you want to blog about.

  1. Thank you. I am delighted that you are setting this up again. Interest in family history continues to grow, and brings increasing interest in local history and local studies. At the same time librarians, and others, are responsible for managing and delivering local studies and similar services, for the first time. The blog provides a means of keeping in touch and sharing thoughts and information, ideas and wishes.

  2. Thanks, Anne – hopefully, there will be several of us blogging here so, with any luck, we can cover a broad range of interests and topics.
